1. A complete FFC mountain bike stadium, 100% free of charge

In Remiremont, the Stade VTT XCO des Vosges Secrètes is the ideal place to train, progress and have fun. This FFC-certified sitecombines natural areas and technical modules. There’s something for everyone and every level. You’re bound to find a track to suit you. The stadium has:

  • 3 cross-country trails: green, blue and elite
  • 2 enduro trails: red and black
  • 1 DH track: blue
  • A trial zone
  • A training area with moguls and wooden modules

The icing on the cake: access is free and open. I’ve written a more detailed article about my experience in a post on the Carnet d’escapades blog.

2. Over 100 km of marked mountain bike trails

Five FFC-certified routes leave from Remiremont and allow you to discover the Vosges countryside at your own level, from family outings to sporting challenges:

  • La Demoiselle: 8.1km and 140m D+ – easy
  • Tour du Corroy: 10.5km and 250m D+ – intermediate
  • Tour de la forêt de Humont: 17km and 310m D+ – intermediate
  • La Croisette: 31km and 910m D+ – difficult
  • Fort du Parmont: 35km and 1000m D+ – difficult

These itineraries offer superb points of interest. I particularly enjoyed the Géhard waterfall and the Parmont fort with its view over Remiremont. The routes require less technical skill than the mountain bike trails, but some very steep climbs can make electric assistance a welcome option for those less accustomed to uneven terrain. If you’re more sporty, you’ll be able to extend your adventure by taking in some of the trails in neighboring communes.

3. On-site services so you can pedal with peace of mind

At the foot of the mountain bike stadium, a reception building managed by the Tourist Office does everything it can to make life easier for mountain bikers:

  • Rent semi-rigid or full-suspension electric mountain bikes at attractive prices
  • Personalized advice to prepare your outings
  • Repair bay and car wash
  • Snacks and beverages for refreshment and rejuvenation
  • Shady terrace for relaxing after a hard day’s work

We’ve thought of everything so that you can enjoy your cycling outings without worrying about logistics.

4. A haven of tranquillity in the heart of unspoilt nature

The Vosges Secrètes offer a wild and authentic natural setting, far from the hustle and bustle of crowded tourist sites. Everything here encourages you to reconnect with nature and enjoy a bubble of fresh air. In addition to cycling facilities, there are numerous hiking trails, a trail station and a lake for swimming.

You can also enjoy a moment of relaxation with the FORêT l’Effet Vosges range of natural and local well-being products, made from plant extracts and essences from the Vosges mountains.

When it comes to accommodation, you can enjoy a cozy stay in a cosy gîte with sauna and whirlpool bath at the Annexe, or choose accommodation with the Accueil Vélo label, like the maison d’hôtes Kieffer. A lovingly renovated 18th-century farmhouse located in the immediate vicinity of the mountain bike stadium, you’ll receive a warm welcome.

5. A cultural heritage to discover

Remiremont is more than just cycling. The ancient abbey town is distinguished by its historical heritage. After a good pedal, discover the fascinating history of Europe’s most prestigious female monastic community in the 18th century by booking a guided tour of the town and explore its abbey church, arcaded lanes and numerous fountains.

The city also offers a wealth of local culinary delights for those with a sweet tooth. After a hard day’s work, try the Abbesses trout pâté at the Bistrot des Apothicaires, which has been awarded the Remarkable Site of Taste label, or succumb to local sweets such as the nonnettes and loriquettes at Jean-Luc’s tearoom.

This trip was organized as part of a paid commercial collaboration with Remiremont Plombières Tourisme. I have freedom to write.
