Ah, sports bras... It's always a real pain to find the best ones, which offer support without compressing, don't cause irritation, are breathable and suit our morphology... There's no miracle solution, but here's our selection (and our opinion, Laurène and I). A selection of the best sports bras that will evolve according to our various tests!
1. Compressport FeelFree Seamless Bra
I liked
- No seams
- Good support without compromising breathability
- Totally forgettable
I liked it less
- No adjustable straps
We love the Compressport FeelFree Seamless Bra. Seamless, underwire-free, with a lightweight, ventilated stretch fabric that reduces chafing – that’s the promise of this sports bra… And I have to say I was quite taken aback from the very first test, an impression that was confirmed afterwards.

In fact, the seamless fabric is really comfortable: no chafing or irritation to report, even though I often have this problem, even on rides that aren’t necessarily very long (like 1h30). When we say seamless, of course there are a few (notably at shoulder blade level), but they remain rare and discreet.
In terms of support, we’re talking about intermediate support, which suits my 90B bust perfectly for high-impact activities like trail running. It’s hard to believe when you first see the bra, as it looks so uncluttered, but the stretch fabric actually does the job perfectly, with the elastic running under the bust. You get support without the slightest hindrance to breathing, even during split-type sessions.

The material is soft and very comfortable to wear. As always with bras, it’s claimed to be breathable, but that’s not really the case (I’m not sure that’s even possible!). You always end up quite wet after your running session, but I have to admit that this one is one of the best in this respect: it dries a little faster than average!
What do I love about this bra? I forget all about it as soon as I put it on: a comfortable fit that lets me breathe without any friction points. I’m won over!

2. Salomon Cross Run bra
I liked
- Comfortable
- Good support
- Freedom of movement
- Sober design
I liked it less
- No adjustable straps
The Salomon Cross Run bra is simple, elegant and lightweight. With no padding or adjustable straps, the emphasis is on simplicity, which suits me perfectly. The specific shape of the back is a nice aesthetic touch.
Its soft fabric hugs the body perfectly, even on the move. The fit is firm, without being oppressive. Its racing back, a combination of a swimmer’s back and a wide back over the top, frees the shoulder blades while providing good support. Sensitive to chafing, I was a little apprehensive about this layering in the back, but no irritation to report, even after 60 kilometers of trail running and no balm.
The elastic band under the chest is wide enough to keep the bra in place without discomfort. Intermediate support is sufficient for smaller breasts, and there’s no bounce even on fast downhill or technical terrain. Let’s see if it responds in the same way on other body shapes.

The only area of irritation? The classic one just below the bust, in the middle. But I still haven’t found a bra that doesn’t cause irritation, given that my skin is quite sensitive!
Salomon’s Cross Run is a versatile, comfortable bra that can be used for high-impact sports, especially with a small bust.

3. Anita Active Smart Control bra
I liked
- Product effectiveness
- Excellent fit
- Pleasant to wear
- Adjustable shoulder straps
- Hook-and-loop fastening on back
- Good quality
- Slight
I liked it less
- No fun colors
- The high price
The Anita Smart Control bra is a reference in terms of support and comfort, particularly suited to larger breasts (this bra is available in sizes A to G). After several field tests, here’s my feedback.
What makes the difference with a classic bra is its design, which is more akin to a sports bra, notably with the hook-and-loop fastener on the back, a practical detail that ensures optimum fit and avoids having to put it on over the head (very useful when you’re at the end of your rope after a trail run, and don’t need to fight to get the bra off!).
The straps are wide and adjustable, and unlike other models, the Anita Smart Control features a “clean cut” back, i.e. no swimmer’s back; the straps pass over the shoulder blades, like a classic bra. The cups have no skin-side seams to avoid chafing. I haven’t yet tested it on a long run in summer heat, but on a 1.5-hour trail run, I didn’t experience any chafing.
On the other hand, Laurène, who also tested it, was bothered as soon as she put it on by the seams on the side, under the armpits. That’s not my case at all, so it really depends on each person’s morphology…

On the trails, the Anita bra is very effective: it doesn’t move, doesn’t compress and is totally forgettable. It’s light and comfortable to wear, and whether you’re doing a split workout or a trail run, it provides optimum support without compromising your breathing.
If we had to sum up this bra in one sentence, it would be: Deutsch Qualität. Anita offers a reliable, well-designed and durable model. The brand makes a point of offering women a sports bra suitable for all body shapes, without compromising on quality or support, and seems to be the ideal partner for large breasts. I’ve adopted it!

4. ON Performance Flex Bra
I liked
- Comfortable and pleasant to wear
- Good support
- Adjustable shoulder straps
- Elegant
I liked it less
- Does not wick away perspiration well
- High prices
The ON Performance Flex Bra has been designed for intense sports and to provide a minimum of bounce for sportswomen. No need for teasing, it perfectly fulfills these points (tested on small breasts), even with its advertised medium support.
The fabric is pleasant to the touch. The mesh back with double support band gives it a unique style, and I particularly like the range of colors on offer (not just black!). The non-removable cups are light and well-shaped to hug the silhouette. On this bra, the straps are adjustable, which is always a good thing for a perfect fit.

In the field, I like the feel of the ON bra. It feels good on the move, minimizes bounce even on high-impact activities like trail running, and stays securely in place. There’s no feeling of tightness, even during a split session. I did, however, experience some irritation in the décolleté area, but that’s fine with an anti-chafing balm.
On the other hand, it’s meant to be breathable and absorbent, but as always, it gets soaked after a good workout. It’s still a bra I really like!
Features
- Weight: 102g
- Composition: 75% recycled polyester; 25% elastane
- Back composition: 82% recycled polyamide; 18% elastane
- Colors: several colors available
- Price: €75
5. Kari Traa Froya bra
I liked
- Adjustable shoulder straps
- Cool patterns
- Slight
- Attractive price
I liked it less
- Light support
- More pronounced seams
- Non-breathable
This bra is designed for low-impact activities, but is also suitable for shorter running or trail outings with smaller breasts. Its light support gives a feeling of freedom without excessive compression.
The swimmer’s shape back is always a plus because it’s so comfortable, and its thin straps are adjustable, making it easy to adapt to all body shapes. The wide elastic band under the bust ensures good support and prevents it from riding up, even on specific movements like yoga.
The wool lining on the front is pleasant in winter, providing extra warmth. On the other hand, it lacks breathability and you can quickly get soaked! The cups are removable, so you can adjust the bra to your preferences.

On the other hand, the seams are more noticeable, especially in the décolleté area, which can be less comfortable and increase the risk of irritation.
The little extra? Floral and graphic prints for a stylish touch.
With its low support, the Kari Traa bra is ideal for hiking, yoga and gentle sports. Its wool lining also makes it ideal for winter sports .
