On cloudy days or in dense forests, however, a photochromic model might be more suitable: in this case, you can opt for Intensity with Reactiv glass instead of Spectron HD.

Look and design
We agree, this is a very personal point, but I really like their look. The Julbo Intensity have a sleek, sporty look , with a panoramic, rimless screen, slim temples that fit nicely under a helmet, and a blue flash (as seen from the outside). The look is modern and technical.
As for ventilation, the openings at the top of the screen ensure good airflow.
I also think the look is versatile enough to be worn off the trail (even though it’s still a sporty look, don’t we agree!).

Comfort and support
At just 20 g, these goggles are so light that they’re completely invisible: it’s quite impressive and very pleasant! As well as being lightweight, they’re also very comfortable to wear. I never felt any pressure points, even after long bike rides (like 7 hours straight).
What’s more, the Grip Nose (the insert located at nose level) plays its role very well, even in sweaty conditions, and the goggles don’t slip. The anti-slip temples also ensure a secure fit, even when running or in the rain! In short, they won’t budge, whether you’re biking, trail riding or hiking (the three sports I’ve tested with them).
Last but not least, the ventilation is efficient: I never have to worry about fogging with these glasses, even during fairly intense exertion.

Lens quality
The Spectron 3 HD lens offers excellent UV protection (these are category 3 lenses) and, above all, enhanced contrast designed to optimize color vision and improve terrain reading. Roots, stones and asperities really stand out, which is particularly appreciated when trail riding or cycling. It’s something I really like!
Beware, however, that in changing or weak light, thelack of photochromic effect can be a hindrance. For this reason, Julbo also offers more adaptable (but also more expensive!) Reactiv versions.
For my part, I already find the Spectron HD to be more than sufficient, even when I’m out in the woods in the shade. In fact, when I wear them, I rarely have the reflex to take them off, whereas I always do with some of my sunglasses because I suddenly feel I can’t see properly. Not having to go back and forth is particularly comfortable!

Durability
These glasses are all lightweight and seem fragile at first glance, but in use I found them to be robust. No fragility to report after a few months’ use, during which time they ended up on the floor a few times (I have a clumsy tendency, which makes for a good crash test…but sometimes a short lifespan for my glasses!).
Conclusion
Julbo Intensity Spectron HD are the perfect glasses for sportswomen looking for versatility, lightness, comfort and precise vision in bright light during their sporting activities. Their fit, ventilation and lens quality make them an excellent choice for trail riding or cycling.
